[After Nao's finally caught up to the events, or as close as being caught up can be when he's still not sure how much he's absorbed (too many things happened and he didn't even see them, it's pretty worrisome), he finally manages to find the time to contact Rin. He feels kind of bad, after all, since he didn't mean to jinx himself and actually disappear.
[ More often than before, Rin has been keeping his phone either in his grasp or in direct line of sight, a change he's adopted to ensure his ability to answer should he get any calls or messages from people he's waiting on. One such person is just who happens to be calling him, and because he'd been otherwise unoccupied he answers almost a little too quickly. ]
Nao? Is that you? [ In a rush of one breath, expectant, demanding. ]
[He says easily with a soft chuckle, though it wasn't the same type he gives when he's happy. Tired, mostly, and probably a reflexive action than anything else.]
Sorry I couldn't call sooner. It looks like I got held up. I hope I didn't worry you so much.
[Goodness knows he made so many people worry already.]
[ His tone is light, carefree, masking (for the most part) the relief that otherwise fills him. There's a soft 'huh?' and then he can't help his own laughter. ]
You're apologizing? Does that mean you chose to vanish off somewhere without your wheelchair or letting anyone know?
[ Rin turns over the new information in his mind, wondering over it and the reasoning behind it for but a few moments before he replies. ]
Huh. I'd say you could've gotten drugged but all this weird magic crap might be the explanation somehow.
[ Is it obvious that he hadn't believed in anything supernatural before this? He sounds bewildered, a tad exasperated - it's a lot harder to figure out things when he can't really wrap his head around it. ]

[He doesn't know if that'll make things better, but at least it would certainly make things easier to understand if he were drugged.]
Where I'm from, the idea of being spirited away into a supernatural world isn't uncommon, but I never really believed it until now. It's a little too surreal. [He pauses for a second though at the words.] Have their names stayed on the phone register?
[ Rin won't really hold him to it but... a hug would be nice, actually. He hasn't gotten one of those in a long number of months. ]

Yeah. Don't know about all of them, but yours and Hiro's were still there. None of my messages would go through to him, it's what made me worried in the first place.
Being spirited away isn't always a better means... but I can see why people would prefer it.
[Ah, that would make sense then, judging by what he's said.] I heard it was the same for me, so I suppose it's a way of this place letting us know that someone's not around but not completely gone either, huh?
